Took an afternoon to visit Namdaemun Market today to capture footage of this amazingly huge, amazingly busy outdoor marketplace. On the way back, I curiously stopped in at the grocery store in Shinsegae, one of the major department stores in Seoul (along with Hyundai and Lotte).

By most accounts, it is similar to a small American grocery store, aisles of packaged foods, meat, fish and poultry counters… the big surprise was that  each section of the store had its own attendant.

Want bananas? Make sure to pay a visit the banana lady.

Leafy greens? There’s a “Green House” lady for that.

We are still working out the details of our filming schedule this weekend, but we are planning to head out to another farm about an hour from Seoul. This one is accessible relatively directly by train.
