ABOUT THE WORK

Intense political and cultural borders exist between our home in Japan, and my wife’s home country of Korea – as they surely do in many cultures. These cloud photographs are from our dozens of flights across this particular border.

They are printed using the prussian blueprint technique (also known as cyanotype) using only sunlight for exposure, on paper made from Bamboo, a plant native to both places. Nature’s borders. Elements in the cycle.

FILM

A short film highlighting this work was produced by the OSU Museum of Art.
